Best selling Books? The Holy Bible Has Sixty-six

If you are in the market for best selling books, you need look no further. I can link you to the number one best selling book in the world, and you can read it for FREE. Legit!

Why? Because the author wants you to read it, and he's offered it without charge. Now, there are places you can find his book in a fancy cover, or with a special kind of paper for its pages, or having convenient study resources accompanying it (like maps, study guides, or a concordance, etc. to help you find passages you know are in there but can't seem to locate, etc.), and if that is something you want, you might pay well for it. But the work itself is freely available!

Sixty-six best selling books in one, with countless copies sold/gifted

One of the phenomena regarding the Bible is that it is really a collection of smaller best selling books, which were written by about 40 men (as they were led by God's Spirit), from various places in the ancient world, and over the span of around 1,000 years. Men who were in high places of authority, men of low regard, shepherds, fishermen, builders, servants, rulers, historians, poets and song writers, philosophers, a physician, and even a transformed (read: former) terrorist.  Do you know of any other book anywhere which came to be in such a way? I challenge you to find one.

Almighty God's bestseller - the Holy Bible - has the answer for your problem. It doesn't matter who you are, where you live, how old you are, what ethnic background you come from, what you look like, who you support politically, or even what you've done -- good or bad. The Bible is God's message to you, and His unique storyline can give you comfort and hope in the midst of what may seem like insurmountable circumstances.

There is a caveat, however. A little explanation I should give so that you will not misinterpret what I am saying. I am not saying that the Bible is a magic book which, as your eyes scan its pages, will miraculously take away your pain and make a delightful, easy _____ (fill in the blank) for you so you won't ever have to concern yourself with your past or future.

I am also not saying that if you read it once and then keep it in your home, say, in the bookshelf or on your coffee table for the rest of your life that you will reap wonderful benefits from it, as if it were a lucky charm. God's message doesn't work that way. It's meant to be consumed, digested, applied. God says His word is living and active! Ready to perform life-saving surgery on your spiritual heart.

It is entirely within your own control as to whether you will benefit from reading it. You can definitely ignore or even despise the Bible's contents. You can find what appear to be contradictions in its pages, and you can refuse to believe its claim to be our Creator's perfect message to His human creation. All that is perfectly within your right and ability to do.

Or you can choose to read it with an open mind, and try to understand this ancient book's message as it might apply to the world today. If you do, you'll find the whole Bible to be relevant still, in our days of technology, medical advancements, space travel, and any other breakthrough or other factor we could list.

Now, because of exciting technologies, people dedicated to sharing God's amazing message of love, and God's power to preserve His living word, you can probably find a translation of the Bible in your mother tongue! Go here to check.

Can other best selling books do this?

Can you name even one other book whose author has offered to come live with you? How about an author who has promised to give you everything you need for a good life?

Do you know of another book that describes the death of its author? I'm not talking about a biography, where an author describes the death of some other author whose life is the subject of a book. No, I'm asking you to answer (or at least ponder) a question that sounds confusing (because it is)! At least, the concept of someone telling about his own death in retrospect is confusing--until... Until you recognize that someone as an Almighty God, who is the Author of life itself!! But let's look at it.

Hebrews 2:10
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

But wait, you say.... That Scripture is talking about GOD's decision concerning Jesus. It says that all things are for GOD and by GOD.

And you are correct. (Sharp eye! Good job.) This is where searching the Scriptures gets really fun and interesting and sometimes challenging--when other Scripture verses (many times from other Bible books penned by writers from different eras and/or places) actually clarify, or even complete my understanding of the original verse that seemed a bit daunting! Like this one:

John 1:1-3 [The Holy Spirit of God said through the chosen writer John] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

John 10:30 [John recorded what Jesus said] "I and the Father are one."

Don't you think that's absolutely cool?! How wonderful it is, that our Creator actually loves us in a way we can't yet fathom, wants us to know Him personally, and tells us how to have that enriching relationship with Him!!!

Another really astounding thing is that the best selling book I am referring to here (the Holy Bible) is that it's ALL about Jesus. All of it. Sixty-six smaller books gathered into one (39 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament books) work together to tell us the story of Jesus.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Acts 4:12 Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Matthew 7:21
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. Whoever rejects the Son will not see life. Instead, the wrath of God remains on him.”

Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 John 5:11-12
And this is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. / Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

How can He accomplish such an incredible feat? He's Almighty God, that's how! Isn't He wonderful??!
