However, this habit does not develop automatically; it requires intentional effort and repetition to become part of your routine. Before you check your phone or start your busy day, take a few quiet minutes. Talk to God. Thank Him for a new day. Ask Him to guide you. Starting your day with God is a great new habit to adopt for spiritual strength.

In An Almighty God? Get Serious!, Lamoureux shares how this daily faith growth helped her, writing, “Meditating on God’s Word each day readies my mind and my heart for the challenges and joys ahead.”

Lamoureux learned this during a major health crisis, saying, “I’ve learned over time to look for the benefits” and to “cast all my care on Him and trust in His care for me.”

Affirming God’s Goodness

Another one of the great spiritual life habits is to actively look for God’s blessings. What good thing happened today? It could be something small, like a beautiful sunrise or a kind word from a friend. Write it down or just thank God for it. There is great benefit in practicing gratitude daily, as it can increase your sense of joy and deepen your faith.

Imagine how your day would change if you focused on God's blessings, no matter how small. Intentional thinking about your blessings can shift your perspective and help you see God's hand in your life.

Lamoureux recalls looking back at her recovery and seeing “multiple blessings.” She lists them: “My life, my health, control of most of my motor skills, my voice, my vision… my family, my friends, my home, my sense of humor…”

Counting your blessings shifts your focus from your problems to God’s provision. This faith-based practice fills your heart with gratitude and joy.

Such Christ-like service stands in stark contrast to the depraved way of treating young girls or exploiting others, reminding us of the importance of following the example of the Son.

The Bible reminds us that faith without action is dead. When we serve, we become God’s hands and feet in the world. This active faith is one of the most fulfilling Christian routines, making our belief tangible and real.
